Read for the Record

On Thursday, August 24, libraries and schools across the nation were encouraged to “Read for the Record” sponsored by the Jumpstart Model Program. Over 100,000 children participated in this program this year by reading “The Little Engine That Could.” Together with our library staff we presented a program.

The High School Drama Class presented this classic children’s tale for Stark Elementary students. The program was very engaging and was a great means to start the day. The story is a traditional children’s tale and is still enjoyed thoroughly.

Valen starts the story of the
"Little Engine That Could."

Johnny as the Passenger Engine says he can't help deliver the toys and goods to the other side of the mountain.

Jon as the Little Blue Engine says
"I think I can."
The Drama Class takes a bow after their wonderful performance.
