The McKee Name
Preserved
With the Demolition in 1957 of McKee Hall- the primary children's "cottage"
of long ago- the name of Nobel Butler McKee disappeared from the campus. At
the alumni reunion in 1965, alumni from Supt. McKee's era asked that the
name be given to the Student Center. The MSD Board of Advisors considered
the request and it was decided to name the entire building for the former
superintendent. The food service building thus came to be called "McKee
Dining Room."
McKee Dining hall underwent
a complete renovation in 1999, which created a modern atmosphere with
colorful tile work and an interesting ceiling design that adds much
character.
