Welcome to the Missouri School for the Deaf Campus Video Communications Program

Click here for MSD Campus Videophone Directory

This is a directory to the CVC Stations installed on MSD's campus.  Each CVC station is comprised of either a D-Link "I-2-Eye" or a Sorenson VP-200 'personal video phone,' a small TV Set, and an internet connection. These CVC Stations have been installed to promote better and more natural communications both on and off campus between Staff, Students and Parents. As each separate CVC Station is installed, this directory will be updated with addressing information.

Individuals who are equipped with D-Link "I-2-Eye" (DVC-1000), or videophones, or who have a standard consumer-type web cam and Microsoft Netmeeting,  software, or Polycom ViaVideo personal videoconferencing systems can call these addresses for video communications. Web Cam users should note that video quality for their calls will be severely reduced due to the limited capacity of most web cams, and the limitations of their computer and software.

Hearing individuals who wish to contact Deaf staff or students can call either Sprint VRS at 1-866-410-5787 or Sorenson VRS at 1-866-327-8877.  This is a toll-free call.  The VRS Operator will need the “IP Address " (from the Directory) and will place a video call to that CVC Station - then act as a voice-to-sign interpreter during the call.

CVC Test Camera Address  204.184.12.188
This camera has been installed to allow others to "test" their cameras. The camera will always be on, and will always automatically answer and will show a clock.
Off-campus users are welcome to call this camera to see if their cameras/software will work with our system. On0Campus users are urged to call this camera as a test before reporting problems to the computer department.

Please Note! Because our cameras are set up using static addresses (addresses that do not change), we sincerely recommend that people call into our campus, rather than people on campus attempt to call out.  Home videoconferencing stations generally do not have static addresses, and it can be very difficult to get correct addresses when calling to home users.  Campus users are encouraged to establish contact via email or phone before attempting a call, and to ask the remote site to call in.  This will provide a more stable, more dependable video connection and will avoid much frustration in the long run.  We also recommend that all calls be made using IP addresses rather than phone numbers.  Phone number dialing can be unreliable and inaccurate.  Thank you.
